This Privacy Policy describes how FoodCheck ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
Images you provide. When you use the App to scan a food label, you capture or select an image using your device's camera or photo gallery. This image is sent to a third-party AI service for analysis and is not stored on our servers.
Scan history. The App stores your scan results (product names, nutritional data, glycemic scores, thumbnail images, and timestamps) locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to export or share it.
App settings. Your preferences (selected AI model, language) are stored locally on your device.

All scan history, settings, and app data are stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store your personal data. Since data is stored on-device, its security depends on your device's own security measures (screen lock, encryption, etc.).
We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your data with third parties, except as described in Section 3 (third-party AI services used for food label analysis).
Your scan history is stored on your device for as long as you choose to keep it. You can delete individual scan entries or your entire scan history at any time from within the App. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the App does not collect personal information from any user, no special provisions are required.
The App requests access to your device's camera solely for the purpose of capturing food label images for analysis. Camera access is used only when you actively initiate a scan. The App does not access your camera in the background.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the updated version of this page with a revised "Effective Date." We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
